At yesterday’s Honda dealer meeting in Anaheim, California, it was confirmed that former World Superbike champion Neil Hodgson will join Miguel Duhamel on the factory Honda CBR1000RR Superbikes to contest the 2008 AMA Superbike Championship.

Hodgson apparently impressed the decision makers at Honda earlier this year when he rode a one-off race on a Corona Honda CBR1000RR at the Laguna Seca Superbike race.

The Isle of Man / Laguna Beach resident and all-around nice guy’s last full time ride was in the AMA Superbike series on a Ducati in ’05 and ’06, so he’s got a good amount of experience at U.S. tracks. Hodgson was without a full-time ride in 2007.

At this moment we are unclear about Jake Zemke’s plans for 2008.
