I don't like it. For better or worse, I think part of Ducati's charm is their "Italian-ness". Let's face it, Harley is huge compared to Ducati. Would this merger sanitize the Italian brand?

George Carlin once said that if you put an white kid in a room with a black kid, you won't see the black kid acting white, but you will see the white kid acting black. I'm afraid that if Ducati joins with Harley, Duc's will start to act more like American bikes....fatter, less performance, less exotic.

I'm afraid I fall into that 50% category, owning a Ducati and a Harley. Now I'm worried. I agree, that merger wouldn't be good in the long term. I know all too well Harley-Davidson's desire to have things their way, and their belief that whatever they do is the correct way. Would we see Buell-framed bikes with DS1000 motors? I dunno, would that be a bad thing? I agree Ducs would lose their sexiness. Of course, all fasteners would increase in size to Buick standards, and be SAE.
