New Buell 1125R: Uglier than sin?
I want to like Buell's new 1125R, I really do. I'm as patriotic as the next guy, and I've never understood why no American company could produce a decent sportbike. So when I heard about the new Buell 1125R I was very excited. Rotax built (not American built, but let's not be picky) liquid cooling, 4 valves per cylinder, good power, good weight, probably good handling.
But then Buell went and made hit it with an ugly stick. A very big ugly stick.
And, really, is there any advantage to their wacky fuel-in-frame and single disk front brake caliper? No, not really. Just different, not really better.
Then I hear reports that the fuel injection isn't smooth, and the thing roasts your legs with heat.
I guess I won't be selling my Triumph any time soon. <sigh>
